Donor Stories

Volunteering for Lori's Voice has impacted me and my family in so many ways. You are able to see how blessed you are with healthy children. You better understand the needs of those that have children with disabilities and how Lori's Voice makes a tremendous impact in their lives. You are able to give back and help families and children that are struggling. The best benefits are to see the smiles on the children and parent's faces. Lori's Voice does so much behind the scenes to change the lives of those that have been impacted with life's challenges. You should consider volunteering it will change your life and Lori's Voice is a great organization to volunteer for.

The West Michigan Mustang Club donates to Lori's Voice because they do such wonderful things for children in need.  One of our own members has a granddaughter who has benefitted from them with a wheelchair and a bike.

The beach wheelchairs they provide at the beach of Lake Michigan are marvelous.

It opens a whole new world to children who otherwise couldn't get through the sand to touch their toes in the Lake.  Thank you.

I have known Lori all her life. She is a very special lady!!  Her mission to help the families with children with disabilities and the fact that everything donated goes directly to them is amazing.  All the wonderful people who volunteer are so generous and do such a great job helping to keep Lori’s Voice such an active charity.

I love Lori and Dave.  Keep up the good work ❤️

In my past "reporter" days, I would see first-hand the genuine joy on the faces of the recipients of your gifts.  And that joy resonated through their entire family.  As a spectator, I couldn't help but to feel that happiness, myself.

Then I became a volunteer for the Lori's Voice Walks and that happiness multiplied ten-fold. To see so many walkers on the Berlin Raceway track making each curve, I felt that I was a small part of something much bigger than myself. I was excited to be a part of this fundraiser. (Especially when I saw so many of Lori's Voice children that had been helped in the past, taking the track with us able-bodied.)

Last, but definitely NOT the least reason is: To know Lori and Dave Hastings; is to love them.  And who cannot help those we love!?!

Volunteering for any cause you believe in is probably the most gratifying thing a person can do.  We are put here on earth to be of service to others and I thank Lori's Voice every day to make that mission so easy for me.

Every time I talk with a family regarding their needs, I go back in time and remember how hard it was realizing I had a special needs daughter and I couldn't purchase what I needed to keep her safe.

How about this one....... I have enjoyed working with Lori's Voice families, and the other volunteers and look forward to assisting these families for many years to come.

I find volunteering for Lori's Voice to be as refreshing as a cold beer on a hot day.   No???

We admire the mission of helping physically challenged youngsters and also admire the integrity and dedication of the organization and founders.

My 1st experience in volunteering for Lori’s Voice was a positive one for sure.  Met and maintained some nice friendships. I wish I could do more for the organization.

The impact it has is lifelong.  I believe helping others is what we are called to do.

I had the privilege of working with Dave and Lori in their passion to establish Lori's Voice.  I loved working with them through the long process of legalities and structuring the non-profit to benefit the needs of some very special children.  I won't forget the happy faces when a child is able to use a special computer, adaptive or sports equipment, or chair to help them mainstream into their peer group or school.

Hi Lori, for me it's quite simple: you and Dave are living, breathing witnesses to the grace and mercy of our Savior, Jesus the Lord! Your ministry is a modern-day miracle!

Lori is my inspiration. She is the foundation and a hero to me.  As a classmate she is the one person from our graduating class that to me has done more for people than anyone else.  She shares her ideals and her heart to everyone she meets, helping others who like her have difficulties in life.

Volunteering for Lori's Voice has allowed us the opportunity to give back. We couldn't be more grateful for the help they gave to us in the need for a van for our son.

Christina and David Dehen- VOLUNTEER

I have been a supporter of Lori's Voice from the start. (our very first walkathon was at St. Mary’s church). Looking back, I cannot believe how much our community support has grown. Walks at Marne Raceway, Dances, raffles, golf outings, etc. It seems our local and not-so-local community has stepped up time and time again.

I greatly appreciate how the focus has always been kept on the kids and families they serve: Lori and Dave are excellent stewards of the blessings given and make sure at every turn that money is not wasted on any items or services that can be donated or done at cost. The events are well thought out and organized, and I appreciate the time afterwards when we could debrief and talk about what went well and how we could improve.

I consider it a privilege to volunteer for Lori's Voice and plan to continue!
