Kohl’s to donate $10,000 to Lori’s Voice through Kohl’s National Giving Program.
We are pleased to announce that Kohl’s is donating $10,000 to Lori’s Voice through Kohl’s National Giving Program, which awards more than $3 million in grants annually to nonprofits with a mission to support health and wellness for families. The donations are made possible through Kohl’s philanthropic program, Kohl’s Cares®, which sells children’s books and toys and donates 100 percent.
In addition to this grant, Kohl’s encourages their associates from our local stores to volunteer at any Lori’s Voice fundraisers held during the year; as a result of these willing volunteers, Kohl’s donates to our fundraisers.
This grant will directly benefit many families through your generosity. Kohl’s stores have been a favorite retailer for many of us and we applaud your commitment to community.
We are thrilled to have received the Torch Award for Ethics this year. The BBB feels the "Torch Award recognizes non-profits that demonstrate exceptional levels of ethics and integrity. These enterprises stand out by excelling in community, human resources and leadership efforts.”
Over the few years Lori’s Voice has been in existence we have received praise and recognition from a variety of organizations. This one however, is the most public and it recognizes not just the work we do with special needs children but how we go about doing it. We are grateful and humbled.

Thanks to our generous supporters, we were able to make The Art Van Fun Zone a reality! This all-accessible playground is located at The Art Van Sports Complex in Rockford, MI Please check out this state-of-the-art playground!!!
Paige, 20 months, and her mother Farah, enjoy the new totally accessible swing that was recently donated to the City of Coopersville and installed in the Coopersville District Library playground. The swing allows all children of every ability to enjoy swinging. While Paige is developing normal, her mother said she still loves being able to swing and not having to hold on by herself.
Lori said that one of the elementary students she knows in the city who has cerebral palsy always wanted to swing, but it was hard for him and others with disabilities to use the regular swings. This new equipment allows handicapped children, as well as others to swing without having to hold on to the chains that secure it to the frame.
